ARMSTRONG Gordon Richard 1706 Ferrare Drive Beverly Hills, CA 90210 310-858-4976 gordo_la@yahoo.com

Married for 42 years to the same remarkable woman...must be a record for this town. Two sons living near us and working in the entertainment business. Spent most of my years marketing motion pictures for a host of the major companies including Universal, 20th Century Fox, MGM, where I worked on such films as King Kong, ET, the Exterrestial, Blues Brothers, Sophies Choice, Coal Miners Daughter & Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. Six years ago, I was one of six guys who started an Internet advertising company that sold and deliver ads to a host of websites (yes, you can blame me for those intrusive popup and banner ads). Company (DoubleClick) is still a major force in Internet advertising. Still interested in Internet technologies and have worked as a consultant for several startup companies. Love traveling....you name it and I've probably been there. Completed a five week "Travels With Charlie" journey to British Columbia and the Canadian Rockies with my dog, who is a Belgium Sheepdog. The two of us are now taking lessons on how to herd sheep. Looking for the next challenge!!!!!!

BACHELLER Anne Derby (Wagenbach) 2183 Kessler Ct Dallas,TX 75208 214-942-5587 otto@spininternet.com

After MHS graduation I attended Skidmore College and Katherine Gibbs, Montclair and worked as a secretary at Chubb & Son before our marriage in 1958. Became a Domestic Engineer when the children started arriving. Thru the years did volunteer work while a member of Summit Jr. Fortnightly and the Junior League. Also the usual "mom" stuff - PTA, Sunday School teacher, homeroom mother, etc. With college looming in the near future, worked at various positions at the Independent Press, Summit Herald, Madison Eagle and the Faitoute Real Estate Agency. While in Texas worked for the Thrifty Nickel, a nationwide Classified ad paper until retirement in 1998. Otto's bio will fill in the blanks!

We met on the basketball courts at South Mountain School in 1948, started dating November 14, 1952 and married June 14, 1958, after Dartmouth and Skidmore. Next, came three years in the US Air Force - Otto as an Air Police/Security Captain and Sally soon as a full time mom and homemaker in the high desert of California - George Air Force Base - a great chance for this "then young" couple to sort things out and grow up some. Son's Jeff born in 1959 and Chris in 1961 brought great joy and reality!

July 1961 brought a return to civilian life, back to NJ (Maplewood) and the beginning of Otto's career in the financial service industry - Citigroup - Dallas Texas Banks(1985) - Citibank again and now Wachovia. Daughter Claire came in 1964 and we moved to Summit in 1968, which was home and our life for the next 17 years. In 1970 we also acquired 26 acres in the Catskills on which we wilderness camped for many years - the very best thing we ever did as a family.

Much of our life focus has been on these 3 wonderful children: Jeff and his wife, Kathleen (Summit) - 4 children - Alison 20, Jeannine 10, Elizabeth 8 and Brian 5. Jeff is a law partner with Riker Danzig in Morristown and guess what Kathleen does? She also has a RN and Law degree! Chris and Holley (Minnetonka, MN) - 3 boys - Mitchell 15, Chris 13 and Jimmie 11. Chris is a VP with Experion which provides testing services for insurance, real estate and other required state licensing. The boys are simply a whirl of activity that Holley gets to facilitate, track and hopefully survive. Claire and husband, Mark, (Dallas) both teach at Episcopal School Dallas - she American Studies, he heads the Math Department. Their sons - Matthew 10 and Joey 7 are wonderful, close by grand child presence that encourages us to reach out to our other children as often as practical. Their parents are wonderful teachers and influences on children.

We have now lived longer in Dallas (19 years) than anywhere and it is our primary home. Sally and I are both active in our local Methodist Church, which has become extremely important in our lives and provided enormous rewards to us. After selling our larger home and moving into a neighborhood townhouse-condo, life is more manageable - especially since bui9lding our year round home in the Catskills. I am able to work out of New York State for "clumps" of time during the year, thanks to the remote access computer system. Probably our one true excess is 6-8 trips to the Northeast (and Minnesota) to refresh our roots, reconnect with family and friends and enjoy climate changes.

We are aware of how fortunate we have been and hope all our classmate-friends have been similarly blessed. Looking forward to a wonderful 50th reunion and express grateful thanks to our many classmates for their super efforts in putting it together. Warm wishes to all, Sally and Otto

BAILEY Janice Simmons (Scott) 1275 Lupine Way, Golden, CO 80401 303-526-1134

Life proved to have a few surprises for me.  I married the day after graduation from college, taught art for a few years, and then had two daughters.  My husband, however, died of cancer when I was 44, and consequently I went to work in the map department of an oil company.  After six years of widowhood, I entered into a very short and very forgettable marriage, and six years after that, in 1994, I married the VP of the oil company.  It was a package deal...my husband and his seven children along with (now) eight grandchildren, plus one from my daughter.  Needless to say, my life in the foothills of Colorado, is quite full, and very happy.

BALBO Joseph James 223 Main St. Millburn, NJ 07041 973-467-2634

Retired from the Township of Millburn as foreman in the DPW. Married to Barbara Fiola (MHS '55) for 31 years. Collectors of antiques for the Pennsylvania Dutch area of Lancaster PA, where we also had a home. Widower
since 1995.

BARTLESON Susan Janet (Hewitt) 4421 N. 38th St. Arlington, VA 22207 703-536-4157 shewitt@capaccess.org

One week after graduating from Smith, I married Bill Hewitt; one week after that we reported to Washington where Bill started work for Admiral Rickover where his job lasted till retirement in l998.  Thus, almost by chance, we started a life in Arlington, Virginia which has lasted till the present.  We really enjoy the DC area with its many cultural, historic and
political interests.

Our three children were born and raised here---Debby now lives and runs an Edward Jones office near Lafayette, LA; our only grandchild, a miracle in vitro baby named Lexi is now 4.  Sons Jim and Jeff live nearby---Jim writes computer software and Jeff is a social worker for the Fairfax schools.

Starting with a job teaching 11th grade English in '58 ( and using the same book we had had in 11th grade), I retired to be a mom and then started teaching in a nearby coop preschool.  All these many years later I am still teaching at a coop---now 4 mornings a week.  I love being with young children and the opportunity to keep in touch with young families.  As a coop school, we have parents as aides in the classroom every day.  I also enjoy the mix of nationalities, races, religions, etc. which our area provides.

Travel is a highlight of our years now---many trips to Europe, some in the US  and one in South Africa, mostly planning the trips ourselves and driving ourselves around.
Other current interests are baking bread, gardens and gardening, swimming
laps, music and reading.

CLOW Stanley Holmes "Pete" 1828 Starfix Terrace Wilmington NC 28405 plow@worldnet.att.net 910-509-9333 fax 910 509 3088

Since we last met a lot has happened to Jane and Pete. In 2002 we decided to really retire, sold our home of 24 years in Mendham, NJ and moved to a very special place on the southeastern coast. We now live in the community of Landfall in Wilmington, NC where we have a home we love, very special gardens and pool, plenty of golf and within walking distance of Wrightsville Beach.

I am playing golf three times a week and having to deal with my lowest handicap ever. I also have initiated a boat donation program as a charitable fund raising project for the benefit of the Center for Marine Science at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I also serve as an executive mentor to two students at the Cameron School of Business at UNCW.

Update on our family finds our oldest daughter and family (3 grandchildren) living in Denver, second daughter and family (two grandchildren) live in Portland, OR, third daughter and husband live in Palos Verdes, and our youngest daughter and Max the cat lives with us  in NC. All are well and very busy. The fun is to have them come visit the beach and give us the opportunity to travel the West.

During the last decade we have made three major trips to Africa. We have good friends in Cape Town, SA and Harare, Zimbabwe. In addition, we have enjoyed safaris and visits to Tanzania, Botswana, Zanzibar and Kenya. The geography, wild animals and lifestyles of southern Africa are fascinating to us.

I retired as Manager of 'Villa Taverna' home of the US Ambassador to Rome about two years ago and am living in our apt in the 'Centro Storico' of Rome. My late husband and I founded the American University of Rome right here in 1969. It is very much still flourishing, and know occupies much larger quarters on the Gianiculum Hill here in Rome. I am quite detached from it all now, and just sit on the President's Advisory Board which meets very occasionally over a very nice lunch.

Am finally settling down to retired life. Not easy after so many years of steady employment, bringing up the children, traveling a lot, etc. Have attended several workshops on weaving in London, and have finally found my true vocation, that of the textile arts. Some painting as well.

My daughter Lissa lives in San Francisco, and my son, David, is an economist and lives in Falls Church, VA with his attorney wife, Laura. David and Laura were married here and visit when they can. My granddaughter, Jasmine
(Jamie) has visited me many times, the last with a school friend when we travelled all over Italy for three weeks. My first husband and I remain good friends, and his three children have all been here to visit as well, so it's not as though I am so far away from the family that we never see each other--quite the contrary!

I practiced cardiology and internal medicine until my retirement December 2002. My wife Mimi and I have 3 wonderful sons (and 5 wonderful grandchildren; four are near us and one is in San Francisco.) My  youngest son now runs the medical practice we worked in together. I miss the medicine, but not the administration. Health issues have plagued me. In 1998, I had a bone marrow transplant, and have since had a recurrence of my leukemia as well as arthritis. Despite these problems I feel very well and am enjoying retirement immensely; very much involved with my family, biking, sailing, and back to school taking courses I always wanted to but never seemed to have the time to do.  Mimi continues to enjoy a psychiatric social work practice, but it is home based and therefore allows her considerably flexibility.

Since we were together in '94, older daughter Sara is married to Rob Munson, with 2 boys (4 & 9) and living in a 1912 house in nearby Bloomfield, where I enjoy frequent "visitation rights." Daughter Jennifer is still making her creative way in L.A and is an apartment manager and a student at USC working toward her degree in social work. I am semi-retired from several jobs as a secretary/companion and enjoy time with nearby friends, though many are moving north, south, and west! I'm still doing local event publicity, including our annual Glen Ridge Antiques Show, one of the oldest in NJ - 58th year in Feb. '04.  I cherish many MHS memories of our innocent past as well as friendships enhanced by the speed of e-mail connections in this new century, but I found real joy in our face-to-face MHS reunion-planning meetings as well!  The success of our 40th reunion encouraged me come to this - our 50th - to mark an important milestone with old friends. Peace to all.

EDWARDS Eileen Sandra (Lawrence) 55 Fanton Hill Rd Weston CT 06883 203-454-1193  elawr@optonline.net

I can’t believe it is our 50th already! That surely did go quickly. Robert and I after living in Summit and raising our family there moved to Connecticut and have enjoyed living in the country but being only ten minutes from the beach. We don’t really enjoy the maintenance of an antique house and 2 ½ acres any longer and are definitely thinking a condo would be great. We of course don’t know where that would be. Much time has been spent researching different areas but no unanimous decision has been made.

I started out in retail as a buyer for what was then high end clothing but once the children arrived, was fortunate enough to be able to be stay at home Mom. I then started painting needlepoint canvases and teaching needlepoint several days a week for five years. I became involved in many volunteer opportunities mainly with children’s programs, the church and Reeves Reed Arboretum in Summit. ‘Basically British’ was a business my sister and I started in the eighties when the dollar was very strong. We traveled to Europe several times a year and bought unique items that we then sold at antique shows. But alas all good things must come to an end and with the weakening of the dollar it no longer seem to be profitable and that is when we moved to Connecticut.

We are both still working but not too hard. Robert is close by at a small money management company and I am still selling real estate. I really enjoy it most days but there are the days the clients in my car want a master closet bigger than my house! That is when I think it’s time to quit! My real love is my garden. I so enjoy getting out there and forgetting about everything else for a while. It has been a real battle with the deer but I’m finally ahead of them for the most part, well for today anyway.

We spend a good deal of time traveling to see the wonderful grandchildren we are so blessed to have. Two are in Virginia, two in Summit and two in Menlo Park, California. All great places to visit. Unbelievably we lost our oldest son in the World Trade Center but are fortunate enough to have a wonderful relationship with our daughter-in-law so see as much of the children as we ever did which has been such a comfort to us.

I am really looking forward to the reunion and seeing all the friends from the past. (If only I can lose more than a few pounds, get rid of the gray and do something about all the wrinkles!) Many thanks to the hard working committee that has put this all together for us. Your efforts are very much appreciated.

I have been married to John Harring, MHS class of ’53 for 47 years.  It seems like yesterday that we were in high school together but our “old” children are a reminder that, as unbelievable as it seems, it was a long 50 years ago.  Our sons, Rob and Don are 46 and 45, respectively and our daughter, Kimberlee is 41.  Our seven grandchildren range in age from 15-25 with Matthew and Shayna still in high school, Holly and David at Furman and Villanova Universities, twins Greg and Steve off to Frostburg State and Virginia Tech in the Fall and Christina, the only one not costing her parents any money except for an occasional donation to her credit card company!  We have lived near the beautiful town of Annapolis, MD for 37 years and enjoy all that both the Baltimore and Washington areas have to offer.  Living so close to the water, we have been there and done that with the boating scene.  Its demise came by way of an electrical fire onboard and a “Mayday” call to the Coast Guard before jumping overboard.  It didn’t take long before we replaced the boat with golf clubs, a much less expensive sport and certainly less dangerous, unless you happen to be in the line of one of our drives!  John continues to play that one step forward, two steps back game but I am enjoying a far less frustrating hobby.  I’ve been a member of Sweet Adelines International for 6 years and sing in both a chorus and a quartet.  It’s extremely time consuming, lots of hard work but some of the most rewarding and fun time I’ve ever had.  The organization where I volunteer once a week has let me hang around for 12 years and attending my grandchildren’s various activities keeps me in touch with the younger generation and hopefully young at heart.  I have been to my share of soccer, field hockey, volleyball, baseball, softball and lacrosse games, track meets and tennis matches!   John and I love spending time at our beach house in Bethany Beach, DE and we squeeze in some travel as time permits.  All in all, I’m very grateful for a pretty awesome life that includes many old friends and memories of my days at MHS.  I can’t wait to see you all.  Nancy

GREENLEAF Newcomb 139 Church St. St. Johnsbury VT 05819 newcomb@fcgnetworks.net 802-748-3028

Many changes since I was a mathematician and later taught computer science at Columbia. For time I worked as a sculptor carving in stone and occasionally casting in bronze.  Five years ago we left the Upper West Side for Vermont.  My wife Ditty and I now live in downtown St. Johnsbury along with one dog, two cats, and a cockatiel.

Our daughter Maron graduated from Yale a year ago in political science during which she worked for NGOs in Uganda and Cambodia.  After doing three months of Buddhist retreat, she is now living in Boulder and working in a law office.  My sons Michael and Tony are in their mid 40s, happily married but with no prospect of grandkids.  Michael lives nearby while Tony summers in Martha’s Vineyard and winters in Key West.

The big travels that Ditty and I have taken in recent years have both been to Asia.  Once to Bhutan, Nepal, and Thailand, and once along the Ganges in India.  I decided to quit while I was ahead and replaced my downhill skis with snowshoes.  In the summer I play a tiny bit of golf and love to hike in the White Mountains.

Most of my time is occupied with volunteer activities here in St. J., with our system of justice as one focus.  At the local state prison I lead a meditation group and teach classes in communication.  I serve on the board of the Community Justice Center and serve on panels devoted to restorative justice (an alternative to punitive justice).

I’m Co-director of the Shamabhala Meditation Center where I regularly teach classes on Buddhist meditation and psychology.

For over twelve years I was on the board of the Robert K. Greenleaf Center for Servant-Leadership, which was founded by my father to spread his ideas on leadership, about which I have written and taught.

I keep up some kind of contact with Walter Reichel, Mike Simon, and Maruta Friedler.  The last time I saw them was at a memorial service for my baby sister Madeline, who died of cancer just before her 60th birthday.  It will be great to see many more of you, but it is sad to see so many photos on the page of those no longer with us.

The big event of this year was the miracle of finding my adopted sister Nancy, and then meeting her for the first time in 63 years.  That was a reunion!

Time has passed and the children are gone, so Jim and I have been free to travel.  Our trips have taken us to some interesting and sometimes dangerous places.  More trips are on the horizon.   Our three children have presented us with eight wonderful grandchildren.  They keep us busy learning new skills and relearning some old ones such as skating (on ice and pavement).  I enjoy biking with friends on the Washington areas many bike trails.  It is fun to ride downtown to visit the memorials and museums.  My favorite pastimes have been tennis, which I hope to do forever, and my many pets which have given me great pleasure and enriched my life.

After college, I had a variety of jobs – as an executive secretary,  then as a copy writer for Young and Rubicam, Inc., an advertising company in New York City, finally leading to a job as features editor with the Montgomery Advertiser (the daily metropolitan newspaper of Montgomery, Alabama.), where I worked in other capacities, such as restaurant reviewer, and arts and travel editor,  receiving the first State of Alabama Governor’s Arts Award for my work in encouraging and supporting the arts..  In between, I married a very special and wonderful person, O.A. Wilkerson, and was whisked off to Barbados, BW I, where he was stationed in the Navy.  I was a stay-at-home mom for our three children, now all married and scattered about the country, and did volunteer work in various organizations. We have lived in fascinating places, from Brooklyn Heights, New York; Chappaqua, New York; to Princeton, New Jersey; and many years in Montgomery, Alabama, where I was a member of one of the first classes of Leadership Montgomery.  I served on the boards of numerous organizations involved with the arts and historic preservation. We are currently in Charleston, South Carolina (our address is Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, just across the bridge from downtown Charleston) and are enjoying the beauty of this elegant and historic city.  I only wish I could be with all of you who were such an important part of my life.  What a wonderful job of organization and information gathering everyone has done for this reunion.

Married 45 years to Bob, a Cornellian from Calif.  Over the years, home has been in San Rafael, CA, Fanwood, NJ (where we raised our 3 sons), and presently, Duxbury, MA.  I taught school before and after the children were born, with kindergarten and pre-school being my favorites.  For 22 years, I was part owner of two pre-schools and taught classes of 3-year olds.  During my last years there, I was responsible for the school’s music education and programs.  Music has always been a huge interest, especially singing in choruses and playing hand bells.  Three choir tours to Europe were a highlight.  I’ve also enjoyed arts and crafts and had a small business with some friends setting up craft shows and selling our “wares”.  Not very lucrative for me, but lots of fun!  Retired now, Bob and I find golf, gardening, bridge, and travel give us great pleasure - along with visits from friends and family, especially our 3 grandsons.  Recently, we built a home in Venice, FL which is fast becoming our winter getaway and a family gathering place.    Looking forward to the Reunion!

I retired from Santa Fe Community College in 2001 after 16 years: member of the faculty, counselor/advisor and Director of Admissions and Records. My husband, Allan and I moved to Asheville, NC after 21 years in NM. Our 3
kids and 2 grandsons are all doing well. I currently volunteer at the North Carolina for Creative Retirement at UNC-Asheville, and will be 2005's Secretary for the Executive Committee and the Center's Steering Council.
Allan and I love being in this area, particularly the mountains, although golf up here, compared to New Mexico, is certainly a challenge for both of us.

In the past fifteen years I have done some interesting things including my first trips outside the country besides Canada.  In 1991 I traveled to what was then known as Yugoslavia, just before the war began.  However, we got special treatment there as we were the only tourists there at the time.  We also went to Dubrovnik, Belgrade, Zagreb and a side trip to Rome. In 1993 I went to Russia where we visited Moscow and St. Petersburg and even into Ukraine which for me was the most interesting.

We are living in the same home we've been in for 40 years. Having put on a large addition which means we'll probably be staying for a while longer. In the past 15 years we've had two weddings. 4 grandchildren have been added to the family.  Now there are 5 girls and one boy.  One of our sons lives in El Paso, TX. Another is in California. We have visited them several times and have made trips by plane and auto. We prefer driving to visit local attractions along the way. We like to garden and putter around the house.  Since Bill's retirement, we are getting caught up.

Our other 3 children live nearby so we are able to see them often.  My mother moved here about three years ago from Wisconsin and lives about 10 miles from us in Fairport, NY. She is 89 years old and in good general health.

We have two guest rooms and would welcome any visitors who would like to enjoy this part of NY State.  It's very beautiful here and there are many beautiful natural attractions being  in the Finger Lakes region and on Lake Ontario and the Erie Canal.  We also have the new addition  of the Fast Ferry (The Breeze)  We'll be so happy to see you all in the fall.

Comments: Since retirement, Ed and I have been traveling a great deal - particularly to Scotland. We've taken 10 cruises - Alaska, Panama Canal, Black Sea, Mediterranean, Pacific Ocean, Caribbean, and around Europe. Enjoy it a lot. We're quite active in local groups; I'm past president of local AAUW branch, an officer in the Military Officers Woman's Club, and current president of the DeSoto Senior Center. Ed is the president of the Civil Service Commission in our town. Besides traveling, we enjoy antiquing, exploring Texas, golfing, reading, art, and visiting daughters - one lives in New Hampshire with her husband and is an artist; the other lives in Oregon with her husband and is a police officer in crime scene analysis.

We miss friends and activities in NJ but the move to Wilmington two years ago was the right decision--- milder climate, access to a beautiful beach, classes at UNCW and the local arboretum, two book clubs and a garden club.

Gardening has become a passion. Sometimes challenging, with sandy soil, heat and humidity, hurricanes, but also a joy. Everything grows so quickly; the mistakes and successes sort themselves out in a hurry. We continue to enjoy and support classical music performances---the NC Symphony, a local Concert Association that brings in artists from all over the world, and a series featuring students and teachers from the NC School of the Arts.

Good health and a happy family---we feel most fortunate.

MARQUIS D. Anthony "Tony" 17037 Kelok Road, Lake Oswego, OR 97034 503 636-6356  tmarquis@pacifier.com

Dean Anthony (“Tony”) Marquis is a consultant and community volunteer. This follows an association with KeyCorp Leasing, a unit of Key Corporate Capital where he had been Oregon manager during 1994-1998. Tony has been active in equipment financing and corporate banking since 1972, commencing with a start-up term financing of U.S. Bank where he was Vice President and a board member. During the intervening years, Marquis represented several banking and institutional lenders and was active in his national trade association and an occasional author and speaker on leasing topics. He has also independently arranged lease financing and has served as a director of a Portland based company. He has prior experience with corporate logistics and data systems design, residing in New York and Chicago prior to moving to Portland in 1968.

1959 Duke University graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering. In 1966, he received an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, graduating with honors. He has served on active duty with the United States Navy including ship deployments in Japan and Southeast Asia, and is a retired Commander, U.S.N.R., with 23 years of active and reserve service.

He is a past Chair of the Regional Arts and Culture Council, Portland’s local arts agency. He was active with the Council from 1993 through 2000. He is currently a member of the Oregon Arts Commission, appointed by the Governor in December, 1999 and 2002. Earlier associations include the Portland Art Museum, Tri-County Community Council, and United Way of the Columbia-Willamette with service as a board member or Trustee, together with various committee and leadership assignments.

Tony has lived in Lake Oswego for thirty years with his wife, Janice Jacobsen Marquis. They have two married children, Brian of Bend and Mielle of Boston. He has also been active in his community of Lake Oswego and has served in the elective office of City Councilor, as well as appointed positions with the Planning Commission, Design Review Board, and Redevelopment Agency. His special interests include travel, classical music, hiking, biking, gardening, photography, and he remains a lifelong railroad “buff,” in which capacity he currently advises the emerging Oregon Steam Heritage Foundation.

Boy, does all the above seem self-important, but, truthfully, I just pulled out an old bio. and zipped it off to the good Dr. Smith, my boyhood neighbor! This is symptomatic of my life, as –though retired since ‘98- like others, I can’t get everything done. Except for one serious matrimonial mistake, and, I suppose, a serious lack of vision at the beginning of adulthood, I remain envious of my own life. Portland, and its access to every imaginable outdoor activity, has been perfect for me; I do come back to the Atlantic coast and New England for a periodic fix! I am –in my current incarnation- a ‘home engineer’ ( e.g. shopper, cook, gardener, handyman) while Janice –who has enriched my life beyond description- commences her career wind-down. When free, I manage the accounts, bike, plan our trips, engage in some community activities, and attempt to maintain, like all of you, a life time of friendships, from childhood, service, work, community, etc.

We are trying to figure out where to live when free of jobs (Bend, OR?), and how to squeeze more time out of our lives, and how to slow the pace. While long removed, I have keen memories of a lovely childhood & friend-ships with many of you. I will come armed with my 1948 Glenwood ‘year book’ ( for those of you who wish to probe further into our past) and my 6/5/50 history of Millburn, incorporating many of your reports. See ya’

p.s. Only Don and Jane Hoffman followed me to Portland! Following ‘Howk’s death some years ago, we continue to see Jane from time to time, and, on one occasion enjoyed visiting with the Antrims. And, not least, my God-daughter, descended from the Clow-Mangelsdorf union, now lives but several miles away, truly a global community.

After Cornell with an Engineering Physics major, I went to Caltech for a Ph.D. in nuclear physics and then ended up at Los Alamos in the nuclear weapon program for 25, or so, years.  Wonderful career with experience in the design and testing of nuclear explosives, supplemented with a tour in Washington managing the laser fusion and isotope separation programs and over an accumulated year spent in Geneva and the former Soviet Union on various Cold War arms control delegations.  I retired from full time work at Los Alamos in 1990 and after consulting for a while we moved to Kittery, Maine in 1998.  Last year I was asked to come back to the State Department on a consulting basis which has ended up with almost full time work on verification and compliance issues regarding weapons of mass destruction.

Nan and I are celebrating 28 years of marriage and good health this year.  In addition to Nan's two children, there are now three grandchildren rapidly discovering new things in the world.  Summers of the past 4 years have seen us sailing the length of Maine up to Canada's Bay of Fundy and the east coast of Nova Scotia with our 31 foot sailboat.  Last summer I was one of three, sailing a friend's boat from Antigua to Bermuda to New England.  After last year's 10 weeks on the water, I don't feel too badly that our own boat has been overshadowed by the serious WMD work and won't be put in the water this year.

Since April of 1998 Bob has been the Director of Athletics at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey after an extraordinary career in sports management and development as the President and CEO of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority where he oversaw the Meadowlands Sports Complex.

Bob joined the Sports Authority in 1979 and developed it from a horse racing and professional football business into a statewide engine for sports, entertainment and exposition development.  His most noteworthy achievements at the Meadowlands include establishing New Jersey as the home of the finest college athletic competition with the creation of the Kickoff Classic Football game, attracting the Army - Navy game to New Jersey three times, hosting eight NCAA Men's Basketball Eastern Regionals and the last Final Four ever to be held in an Arena in 1996.  His leadership at the Authority helped to develop legislation, which led to the Authority overseeing the reconstruction of Rutgers Stadium and building new soccer, lacrosse and track and field facilities.

Bob serves as a Director of the First Morris Bank in Morristown, New Jersey, and was Chair of the Wickes Lumber Company headquarted in Vernon Hills, Illinois.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Football Foundation Hall of Fame and a Trustee of the Atlantic Health Care System.  In the recent past Bob has served on many charitable causes - 13 years as Chairman of the Cathedral Healthcare System in Newark, President of the Tri-County Scholarship Fund and a member of the Lay Board of Trustees of the Delbarton School.

After graduating from Villanova University Bob served two years as a Naval Officer before joining the family construction business. Bob had a natural inclination towards local and state government and served a term as the Mayor of Mendham Borough before leaving to serve in the administration of Gov. Brendan Byrne where he served as the first Commissioner of Corrections and then Chief of Staff to the Governor before being appointed to lead the Sports Authority.

Bob and I (Terry) were married in 1960.  We lived in Mendham for 37 years before moving to "The Hills" area of Basking Ridge 5 years ago.  We have 7 children.  Five are older, married and with children and that numbers 11 grandchildren for us.  All but one son and family who are in Boston live within a 12 mile radius.  We consider ourselves fortunate because we also spend 5 weeks on Cape Cod in the summer.  Our 2 youngest daughters are in their 20's living in New Brunswick with "special granddog" and have added a wonderful dimension to all our lives.

I moved out to Washington State (on an island across Puget Sound from Seattle) from New Hampshire in 1995 to help my daughter and her husband with their new born twins.  Great move!!! What a beautiful area, this Pacific Northwest - salt water and snow capped mountains right here!

I've been mostly retired since March of last year - now working only one day a week at Waldenbooks in Silverdale, WA; this after a few years in management for Borders, Inc./Waldenbooks. So now I have much time to indulge in my passions.  I spend quite a bit of time with my grandchildren while my daughter studies for her teaching certificate.  I visit with my son and his family in Wisconsin as often as possible.  There are 3 grandchildren there!

Over the past few years I've had some fine adventures!   I rafted the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon - what a time!!  Very spiritual and those rapids are incredible!!  And then during the past couple of Januarys, I have volunteered at the Sundance Film Festival.  Wow - if you like movies, that is the place to be.  Albeit, I worked hard - but I was able to meet folk that are in the business (very interesting) and see loads and loads of movies!  I plan to go back each year to work the Festival.

I mentioned passions - besides my children and their families, I read lots, exercise happily, go to the movies, pet/house sit, root on my Seattle Mariners, and work in politics (working hard on the Howard Dean campaign right now).  What I hope to do in the near future is to go back into Peace Corps.  My first  involvement was on the island of Yap in the Western Pacific from 1990 to 1992.  What a fantastic time - I learned so much! I'd love to hear from my classmates.

Worked for GE until 1962 and then went to Electric Boat in Groton, CT  for a period of 12 years where I was  a chief nuclear test engineer on the submarines that had the S5W reactor plant. That was a great job. During that time, I raced motorcycles and sailboats. In 1973, my 12 year old son was killed, and I decided to get out of the rat race and moved to Maine, where I have family ties. We adopted a boy in 1975 and he is now a captain in the 101st airborne, having just returned from Iraq. (We now have 10 grandchildren) Still married after 45 years. I got into the real estate business in 1979 and really liked it. In 1986, I started my own real estate company, which is now called Realty of Maine, with 6 offices throughout eastern Maine. Need any Maine real estate?? http://www.realtyofmaine.com/

Married 39 years. One daughter, living and working in Seattle.  One granddog.  I retired after several years of care giving in 1997 and Jim retired in 1999 from the University of Washington (Director of Broadcast Services).  Since then we have built a house here on Guemes Island, where we spend our summers enjoying the Pacific Northwest, chasing deer out of the garden and continuing to work on the house.  Most winters have been spent in the Southwest, where we explore and do volunteer work for the Arizona State Parks and the National Forest Service - mainly restoration work on historic sites (I've even learned to sling adobe, but I don't recommend it).

A 9 and 1/2 year Army career was followed by a 27 year ob-gyn private practice and now retirement since 1998.  Am enjoying our seven grandchildren (all in the northeast), traveling, cabinet construction for our children, maintaining a home in Connecticut and Vermont, establishing and helping maintain a Man to Man prostate cancer support group, in short keeping busy, not finding enough time to do everything I want to do, and continuing to find joy with a wife for 46 years even with the more continuous contact since retirement

After graduation from Yale, I got married and started a career in the printing ink industry. Sara and Douglas were  born in 1960 and 1962. In 1964, we moved to North Carolina to build and operate an ink factory. We fell in love with the Southeast and have lived there since 1964. In 1974, I started my own ink business in Kingsport, Tennessee, and sold it in 1990. I continued to work in inks until 2000, when I started a recruiting business for the packaging industry. I met Betty Worthy in the early 90's, and we married in 2001. Our children (3) and grandchildren (5) took part in the ceremony. It was the best party celebration we have ever had.  Betty continues her work in the travel industry, and the recruiting  business continues to prosper.

After MHS, I went to Oberlin, and graduated with a BA in 1958.  I then attended Univ. of Pittsburgh for an unusual program combining graduate degree course work, with direct training in student personnel work.  I began as a graduate assistant in the Dean of Student's office, then became Director of Veterans' Affairs which was mostly ceremonial.  The "real" director was on social security and could not hold such a position.  From '60-61, I was Director of Men's Housing, during which time we had a panty raid leading to a full-blown riot, an employee fired for sexually harassing someone off campus,  and the planning of the circular dormitories now populating Pitt's campus sometimes referred to (by those who can get up on the hill and see them from above) as shaving cream cans!  Possibly because of those events, I abandoned student personnel work to get a PhD in sociology.  The dept. had been changed over night, and was by then, quite good.

I went to Indiana U. in 65, and got my PhD from Pitt in '67.  I left I.U. for Oregon in 1968 where I have been ever since.  Briefly, I went through the ranks to full Prof., served as dept. head, then as associate dean, and then Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (1982-91 in the Dean's office, 5 of them as dean).  I formally retired in Feb '98, but continued on for 5 years on 1/3 time, much of  it as an assistant to the Provost coordinating internship programs on campus.

I married Carol King V.H. in 1959, the day she graduated from Oberlin, and the day her father was given an honorary degree by Oberlin.  He also married us!  We've been married ever since and produced three great kids:  Holly who lives in S.F. is now the Exec. Director of the Bay Area Ridge Trail Association; Stuart who lives in Great Falls, VA and was until a week ago, a VP with Siemens, he is starting up a Velocity franchise; and Eric, who is a social worker/supervisor and lives in Eugene.  Stu and Eric have two daughters apiece:  Lindsay, Sarah, Madeline and Juliette (the first two are the oldest, and Stu's kids).

Carol and I are now fully retired.  She is very active in anti-war, anti-Bush administration activities.  I am active, but less so.  I have
been working with two organizations on low-income housing.  Oh, a bit about our travels.  We've been very fortunate.  We have lived for extended periods (3-6 months) in Stockholm, London and Melbourne (while doing research).  We have traveled to almost all European countries, almost all US states and Canadian provinces, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Senegal, the Gambia, Japan, S. Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, New Zealand, Egypt and Jordan (the latter this February & March).

Much of our life focus has been on these 3 wonderful children:
Jeff and his wife, Kathleen (Summit) - 4 children - Alison 20, Jeannine 10, Elizabeth 8 and Brian 5.

After selling our larger home and moving into a neighborhood townhouse-condo, life is more manageable - especially since building our year round home in the Catskills.

I attended M.I.T for a year and a half, then transferred to Haverford (Pa.) College and graduated in 1958.  I was in the Army three years.  I was stationed in Germany 18 months after spending a year at the Army Language School in Monterey, California, learning Russian.  After that I got an M.B.A. at the University of California (Berkeley).

I worked as a financial analyst, economist, and writer for four companies.  I always did staff work, and never had a single subordinate in 29 years.  I worked for American Electric Power Co. (New York, 1963-65), Center for Naval Analyses, a Navy “think tank” (Arlington, Va., 1965-70), Caterpillar Tractor Co. (Peoria, Ill., 1970-77), and American Petroleum Institute, a trade association (Washington, 1977-92).  I more or less had to take early retirement in 1992, at age 56, and have not worked since.

Main hobbies have been overseas travel, photography, gardening, and writing.  I have visited almost every country in western Europe, a few in eastern Europe, some places in the Caribbean (on cruises), Brazil (on business), Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand.  I moved to Florida in 1994, exactly when the 40th reunion was taking place.

I married Eileen Guarneri (Brooklyn) in 1971.  We had no children, and we were divorced in 1987.  I married Janet Phillips (Michigan and Venice, Florida) in 1996.

We are blessed to have three healthy children all married with families and keeping us further blessed with nine grandchildren. Beau spent 25 years in the Air Force, then worked for Digital Equipment - I spent many years in a middle school library . All of this led to a happy retirement on Cape Cod. We have lived on Cape Cod in a restored 1740 house since 1996.. We enjoy all the Cape has to offer - the ocean, Nantucket Sound, ponds, hiking and biking trails, boating and an added bonus of some great old friends from MHS including Ann and Bill Brown, Anne and Barry Lupton, Phil and Sandy Marshall and other seasonal visitors. We are very involved in our church - volunteer opportunities that seem boundless.. We attended the Class of '52's 50th reunion and it is a wonderful experience to see those precious faces from the "good old days"...Can't wait to see 54ers at our own reunion in October!!! The committee is doing a terrific job and everyone appreciates their work and creativity! Here's to October !!!!

After being graduated from Princeton, I entered the administrative training program at The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, working for 11 years in various positions in the Organization and Procedures Department and the Personnel Department.  In the latter I helped develop an equal employment opportunity program.  Left to join a small management consulting firm (spin offs from McKinsey & Co.), but when the economy took a downturn, in 1970, they couldn't afford me.  So I decided to undergo a major career change and dig into theological issues which had always intrigued me.  Enrolled at Union Theological Seminary, but for two years was only a half-time student, working the other half time as Manager of Management Systems at the National Urban League (with Whitney Young, Vernon Jordan, and Ron Brown).  Finished at Union and then got a Ph.D. in Religion at Duke, after a year of dissertation research in Germany (preceded by marrying Barbara Bowen, whom I had met in New York).  Then 13 years as Professor of Philosophy and Religion, teaching 14 different courses in a one-person department at Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois.  In 1993 the school had to declare financial exigency and release anyone who wasn't offering a major.  Decided to get ordained and become a Lutheran minister at a church in Des Moines (pop. 200,000, with its own symphony, summer opera, and visiting theatrical productions).  Retired at end of 2003.  Have done some traveling since then and hope to do much more.
